Next Startup Weekend Tulsa set for Oct. 21-23rd
Startup Weekend is coming back to Tulsa. This is the third Startup Weekend in Tulsa and is slated to be the best one yet.
What is Startup Weekend? Startup Weekend is about answering questions. Do you have a product or business idea? Do you have an uninspiring 9-5 gig and would be like to do something you are more passionate about? Are you interested in being your own boss? Do you think it would be rewarding to be part of a startup that makes it big? If you answered yes to any of these questions then Startup Weekend Tulsa is for you.
What is it? Startup Weekend is a weekend-long, hands-on experience where aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if their startup ideas are viable, what it would be like to work for a startup and get a taste of what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Get connected with local engineers, developers, innovators and entrepreneurs. Build Community. Start Companies. No talk – all action.
Where is it? This year’s Startup Weekend Tulsa will be held at Fab Lab Tulsa and is the first Startup Weekend in the world to be held at a Fab Lab where teams will be able to fast track the development of actual prototypes of their products. Teams at other Startup Weekends have often focused on software, or web-based businesses. However teams at this Tulsa event will be able to design and build almost anything they can imagine using a sophisticated array of rapid prototyping equipment including a 3d Printer that allows you to directly print a 3d object.
What to expect? At Startup Weekend you will experience every aspect of what it is to be an entrepreneur or work for a startup. In addition you will have the opportunity to find co-founders, meet experienced entrepreneurs, network with key advisors and mentors and gain unprecedented exposure to the investment community.
